sunday 18 march

priory 1 woodham ath 1

a hard earned point against the team top of the table
in very windy condintions woodham taking the lead after half hour
priory working really hard not letting the woodham attack get many shots at rob k in goal
priory not really having any chances but getting to half time only 1-0 down
second half woodham playing there best football against the wind but priory getting a lot of efforts just missing or good saves by there keeper
rob k in our goal also making a couple of good saves to keep the fast looking woodham players at bay
with glibbery playing really well creating our equaliser putting the ball on treabes head to head home
the whole team working hard but not being able to get the winner
no complaints on effort but the draw was the fair result

priory record a great victory against brookhouse
getting off to a flyer with a super own goal then sam bridge scoring straight from a corner with his left foot brookhouse getting back in the game with a simple header from a cross priory now playing with some lovely football with all players playing nice football on a very difficult pitch
richard cross in his new postion getting the third after great play in midfield then a pinpoint ball from treebes to score 3-1 at half time
the second half started with priory really playing nice football with the brookhouse keeper making some great saves
after 10 minutes james roberts came on for kristain who played well after being out for the past 2 months with injury this moving treebes forward
who got the fourth robert kennedy coming on for the excellent richard cross and scoring the 5 after some great link up play and passing james roberts getting the 6 this was a great performance

i cant beleive for the third time this season we have not been given a fixture
the league talk about not being able to play all our fixtures but how can we if we dont get games
we miss enough through the weather but not to get games dose not help either
by not playing regular cause so much trouble with keeping players happy

sorry fellas but as you can read above another week with out football

------------------------------------

SUNDAY 18th FEB
NO GAME TODAY EVEN THOUGH A LOVLEY DAY BROOMFIELD NOT BEING ABLE TO GET A TEAM TOGETHER EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN SIGN THREE PLAYERS ON THE DAY

AS A CLUB I WOULD FIND THIS QUITE EMBARACING NOT BEING ABLE TO FIELD A TEAM
WE NO WHAT THIS CAN BE LIKE
BUT HAVE ALWAYS FIELD A TEAM EVEN IF IT MEANS GETTING BEAT
I DONT THINK THIS IS THE FIRST TIME BROOMFIELD HAVE PULLED OUT

WE GET THE POINTS BUT WE WOULD RATHER HAVE BEEN PLAYING

priory lose in cup in a close game with woodham scoring their goals when needed
woodham getting a well worked goal to take the lead then priory having a lot of preasure but not getting the goal needed but woodham then scoring another goal with the last kick of the half
woodham then coming out in the second half getting a third afer 5 minutes
priory still not out scoring 2 quick goals one for rico and another goal from lee brant this putting woodham under preasure priory looking for the equaliser and making chances only for woodham to break away and score the simplest off goals to kill off the game
all the best to woodham in the next round

sunday 29th jan
priory res 1 re social 2
priory lose 2-1 in tight game after taking the lead with chris gillbery making the most of a mistake by their keeper then conceading a goal on the stroke of half time with some sloppy defending before this priory looked in control .
second half became even tighter with both teams not really getting the ball out of midfield re getting a very lucky second with the ball just getting over the line after two deflections. after this re closed shop with priory not making any chances untill the last 10 minutes putting three up front and getting the ball to them but just could not make it count with their keeper making a few good saves
the team has got to learn if you dont get the ball into their half and make chances you are not going to win games
always next week to put right hopefully we will as its league cup game away to woodham athletic

gillot cup
baddow res getting the win just
and wish them the best for the next round
a below performance by the priory boys who once again kick themselves by blaming others rather than themselves
taking the lead with a goal by lee brant but all was not lookimg good a few bad performances they wil know who a few good and a few that did not grasp the game and would rather blame others baddow scoring before half time to level the score with a well taken goal by the baddow attacker running at the defence and getting past to strike the ball cleanly into the net
the game was fairly even with both keepers playing well it was the next goal that was going to take all
neither team really looked like getting it so extra time was needed
in extra time priory content on penalties but their strikers trying hard which proved the diffrence getting a well taken goal with 7 minutes left

SUNDAY 7th JAN 2007
RES 4 INFIELD 2

WITH A LOT OF EFFORT TO GET THE PITCH PLAYERABLE THE TEAM RESPONED WELL
NOT HAVING PLAYED SINCE BEFORE CHRISTMAS IT SHOWED GOING A GOAL DOWN AFTER 20 MINUTES THIS BEING A GREAT OWN GOAL BY PINKY THIS NOT BEING BAD ENOUGH HE BREAKS HIS NOSE JUST BEFORE HALF TIME
THIS DONE US A FAVOUR(THEM SCORING A GOAL NOT PINKY BREAKING HIS NOSE) AS THE TEAM NEW THEY COULD GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE GAME IF THEY KEPT THE BALL SAM BRIDGE SCORING A WLL TAKEN GOAL AND THEN MISSING ANOTHER JUST BEFORE THEY SCORED AN OWN GOAL AFTER BRIDGY PUTTING IN A GREAT BALL WITH RICHARD WYATT PUTTING PREASURE ON THEIR DEFENDING SO AT HALF TIME IN CONTROL
SECOND HALF WE CAME OUT ALL GUNS FIRING WITH GLIBBERY AND TREEBES GETTING A LOT OF THE BALL WITH ONLY 5 MINUTES GONE TREEBES SCORING A GREAT LOB SHOT THE KEEPER LOOKING STRANDED
CHRIS GLIBBERY MAKING IT 4-1 WITH A GREAT TEAM GOAL AND FINISH WITH LEE BRAND PASSING THE BALL WELL
MORE GOALS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SCORED TREEBES BEING TRIPPED IN THE AREA FOR THE REF TO GIVE A FREE KICK FOR DIVING AGAIN THEIR SECOND GOAL COMING FROM PRIORY SWITCHING OFF FOR THEIR CENTRE FORWARD IN FOR AN EASY GOAL
DAN MORTEN PLAYING IN GOAL MAKING A FEW SAVES BUT PRIORY LOOKING THE STRONGER TEAM A GAME WELL REFFED BY ROD JACKSON HAVING NO OPPTION BUT SENDING A PLAYER OFF FROM EACH TEAM IN THE LAST MINUTE

---------------------------------

WENS 03 JAN 07
WELCOME BACK AFTER THE NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS HOPE EVERYONES HAD A GOOD TIME AND DRANK AND EAT LOADS
NOW ITS TIME TO GET BACK TO THE FOOTBALL
THIS SUNDAY WE ARE AT HOME TO INFIELD THIS WILL NOT BE AN EASY GAME AS INFIELD ARE ALWAYS UP FOR A GOOD GAME LIKE US THEY LIKE TO PLAY FOOTBALL BUT ARE NOT SCARED OF A BATTLE
IMPORTANT FOR US TO BE IN THE RIGHT FRAME OF MIND FROM THE START AND NOT LET THEM GET AN EARLY LEAD
WE SHOULD HAVE A FULL SQUAD SO IMPORTANT TO BE ON TIME MEET JUST BEFORE 10 AT LODGE ROAD
IF NOT ABOUT GIVE ME A CALL

THE FOLLOWING 2 WEEKS WE WILL BE ON CUP DUTY FIRST AGAINST THE UNBEATEN GT BADDOW RES IN THE GILLOT CUP
THEN AGAINST LEAGUE LEADERS WOODHAM ATH IN THE LEAGUE CUP
SO THE NEXT THREE WEEKS WILL MAKE OR BREAK OUR SEASON HOPEFULLY WE CARRY ON FROM OUR FORM BEFORE CHRISTMAS

AS FOR OUR SEASON SO FAR WE HAVE DONE WELL WITH PLAYERS MOVING BETWEEN THE TEAMS WHEN NEEDED
ONLY REALLY LOSING GAMES AGAINST WOODHAM ATH AND WILLIAM DE FERRESS WHEN THE FIRST TEAM TAKING ADAM TO PLAY IN GOAL AND LEAVEING US WITHOUT A KEEPER
RE SOCIAL BEATEN US 3-1 IN A GOOD GAME AND WORKING HARD FOR THEIR WIN
THE OTHER GAME WE LOST AGAINST DEAN INGAS IN THE COUNTY CUP THEY REALLY PLAYED GOOD FOOTBALL AND AFTER OUR PRE SEASON FREINDLEY WITH THEM I SAID THEY WOULD GO ON AND WIN A CUP I HOPE THIS IS THE ONE FOR THEM
WE HAVE DRAWN 2 GAMES AGAINST GALLOW AND OCS THIS ONE WE SHOULD HAVE PICKED UP ALL THE POINTS AFTER MISSING A LOAD OF CHANCES
THE GAME AGAINST GALLOW IS THE ONLY GAME THIS SEASON WE HAVENT SCORED IN SO CANT REALLY COMPLAIN
THE ATTITUDE AND COMMITMENT HAS BEEN QUALITY ONLY PICKING UP A FEW BOOKINGS ALSO THE STANDARD OF REFFING HAS BEEN GREAT BUT I THINK THIS HELPS WHEN YOU HAVE GOT TEAMS THAT WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL AND SO FAR THATS THE WAY IT HAS BEEN
ALL THE BEST TO ALL THAT READ THIS AND SEE YOU IN THE NEW YEAR CHEERS COBA

priory 8- 3william de ferrers a good all round team performance
with adam and doug both being taken with first team and richard cross away
this was a really good win
rob kennedy in goal playing well
dan middenhall and richard wyatt playing at centre backs and doing great dan best game for the club so far with mark treebes dropping out of first team to score two cracking goals and creating many with chris gillibery also banging in two lee brant scoring another quality freekick shane getting one at last after a few great efforts rob edmans on as sub helping hinself also to two goals and showing how good he is a shame is at uniy most of the time
the two kevins picking up bookings
lee philo coming on as sub and playing well as full back kristian also coming on as sub but going off near on straight away with injury so playing the last 15 minutes with 10 players sorry to rico who turnered up to play only to help out by running the line
with rob debell playing his normal game and assisting with sorting out the team which is not easy with so many good players so in all a great day so happy christmas and new year to you all and look forward to the start off our games in the new year

Friendly: Reserves 4 Gt Baddow Kings Head 0

Last friendly of the season. Good to see the Kings Head with a good squad of players and I hope they do well this year. Priory with a full squad so it was important for them to have the right attitude about starting or being on the bench. With the first team with a few injuries it looks like a few will start the season with the first team so the effort was very high with Neil watching. I know that any off the players can step up and do a good job. It is good that Mark Trebes will be playing at the club this year and played the first half of this friendly. The Reserves looking very good from the off and have a high percentage of the game with their keeper playing really well and then having a mad moment and gifting us a goal. With the ball being played around well but again chances being missed. With Adam Linnet running late Sam Bridge played in goal and only having a couple of saves and a lovely pass back by Lee Brant to deal with which made the crowd laugh so only 1-0 at half time. Sam Bridge, Doug Kirkham, Rob Debell, Richard Cross, Kevin Pink, Lee Brant, Mark Trebes, Kevin Robinsion, Sam Thorpe, Dan Middleton, Ben lovell.
With changes made at half time and playing a different formation Priory really started to dominate Kristain Smith scoring a superbly taken goal, Sam Thorpe scoring a really good team goal and finally Andy Annal scoring a tap in after great work by Alex Brad
With Jack Banfield having a really good game at full back. So full time result 4-0.
Adam Linnet, Richard Wyatt, Rob Debell, Bradley Stopher, Jack Banfield,Sam Bridge, Shane Samler, Lee Brant, Alex Brad, Kristian Smith, Andy Annal.
It was good to see the players taking quick free kicks and getting on with the game and not really arguing with the referee Kevin Newton. Cheers to Steve Moss for running the line.

Summary of pre season.
Some really good games and a lot learnt as you can see from reports of games a lot of players used and now a good squad of players with the right attitude and of high football ability.
It will be an interesting season and we hope the players all enjoy their football and not get to upset if they don’t start. It takes time for every thing to settle down and everyone will get their chance.

Reserves 2 Ferrers Athletic 2

Another entertaining game, this time with Priory making a good start and playing the way they should. Very good passing and getting forward in numbers with Alex Brad putting the Woodham defence under pressure from the left hand side and getting his reward with a well taken goal. This making Woodham more determined not to be beaten by our second string after losing to the first team last week. Now closing down a lot quicker and making us make mistakes which lead to their equaliser with the ball being driven high into the net. Priory then getting themselves back together and taking the upper hand with Ben Lovell taking a free kick for Dan Middleton to score a looping header over the stranded keeper. Priory still looking good only to concede another sloppy goal with really bad defending, so 2 – 2 at half time. Only one change at half time with Lee Brant coming on for Kevin Robinson. So much the same as first half with Priory pushing on and looking good. Brad Stopher and Kevin Pink being changed with Doug kirkham and Sam Bridge. Woodham looked to be tiring Priory now have a lot more chances with their keeper making some good saves to keep them in the game. With 15 minutes to go Jack Banfield on for Alex Brad but Priory could not get the winner. A very promising performance which will make it very hard to select the starting 11 for the new season with a squad of players it will be very important for players to have the right attitude. With Neil watching all the games, he has already used some of the players in first team fixtures and at least three have been selected for the squad in the Charity Shield game on Sunday.
Thanks to Peter Wilson for controlling the game well and making sure all the players know the laws of the game. Lets hope they all listen.
Squad: Dan Morton, Kevin Pink, Bradley Stopher, Richard Cross, Ben Lovell, Alex Brad, Kevin Robinson, Shane Samler, Sam Thorpe, Lee Philipo, Dan Middleton, Lee Brant, Doug Kirkham, Sam Bridge, Jack Banfield.

Reserves 0 Knights 1

Priory started well against a team from the Sunday Social league, In the first half we had a lot of chances to score but in general, play was a bit slow and we were not really passing very well but at least getting the ball forward. Looking good from corners and dead ball situations. Knights really only having one really good shot which hit the post otherwise the defence looked good.
Second half. After asking the players to try and take people on, which did happen. Both full-backs offered good support with left and right midfield both trying to get past the full backs. Still making good chances but not scoring, Knights defending well clearing off the line and Priory also hitting the post and missing easy chances, but as is football a decision went against Priory for Knights to score. A good lesson learned that you need to take your chances or you don’t win games. Again another good performance and alot learned, one downer was Andy Annal breaking a rib and he is going to miss the start of the season. Thanks to Colin Miles for refereeing the match.

Squad: Adam Linnett, Doug Kirkham, Richard Cross, Bradley Stopher, Kevin Pink, Ben Lovell, Sam Bridge, Shane Samler, Sam Thorpe, Dan Middenhall, Kristian Smith, Lee Philopino, Alex Bent, Andy Annal and Richard Wyatt.

Reserves 4 Vorranova 3

Another win for the Reserves in a close game. After last week's friendly against Danbury it was decided to use a smaller squad but give all the players a longer run out for fitness and then use a slightly different squad on Wednesday. Four players were absent, one injured and three not showing or letting anybody know. This is why friendlies are important to see who really wants to play. Last year the Reserves had no friendlies and struggled all year until near the end. Again a very good display by all of the players against a team on par with us. The Reserves went one goal down early on after some good play and passing then giving the ball away then being punished by a super strike which Adam got a hand to and nearly saved. Being well marshalled at the back by Rob Debell and good midfield play, Priory were still looking good and having a few chances but not finishing them. From a dead ball Lee Brant put a perfect ball into the box for Bradley Stopher to score. With a few heavey challenges by both teams a free kick was given 30 yards out which Priory did not defend very well to see headed home by an unmarked attacker.

Changes were made at half time with young Richard Cross going back into centre half and Richard Wyatt coming on up front. Still Priory worked hard and got their reward when Lee Philopino netted to make it 2-2. The game was much the same as the first half being very competitive and tight but again Vorranova took the lead again with a deflected shot. Priory then made a change in formation, going three at the back and three up front. Making a couple of changes because of fitness bringing on first team players Steven Moss and Tom Robinson. This forced a defender to score a own goal to make it 3-3 with 10 minutes to go and Priory staying 3-4-3 taking the game to Vorranova. Richard Wyatt hit the post with 5 minutes remaining. With about 2 minutes to go Kristin Smith forced a corner after a heavy challenge on him. With the away side disputing the corner, it was taken quickly for Lee Philopino to score his second of the game. Again another good work out and high hopes for the season ahead.

Cheers to Dave Dye in his first game this season as ref who let the game flow and made some great decisions.
Thanks to all those for helping and watching. All the best to Chris Maycock and his team for the season.

RESERVES 2 DANBURY 1

A good friendly game very evenly matched played in the right manner with both teams using all their players. Some very promising performances. With some players playing out of position alot was learned about people's attitude and commitment. The first half started very fast with Danbury taking the game to Priory but Priory getting into the game then getting the upper hand with a few chances made but missed, Danbury also had a couple of chances with Adam Linnett making one outstanding save. Team, Adam Linnett, Kevin Pink, Rob Debell, Richard Cross, Joe Peters, Lee Philopino, Sam Bridge, Shane Samler, Fraser Watson, Andy Anall, Dan Middenhall.
Both managers made changes for the second half with only Adam Linnett and Rob Debell starting with Doug Kirkham, Bradley Stopher, Rob Kennedy, Sam Thorpe, Kevin Robinson, Lee Brant, Ben Lovell, Kristian Smith and Ashley Conner the replacements. The changes making Priory look a lot stronger than Danbury. Kristian Smith opened the scoring after good work on the right, the ball put on his head to score an easy goal. The game now slowing, Priory looking comfortable but a rash challenge by Doug Kirkham letting Danbury back in with a penalty. With the game now end to end Ashley Conner closed the keeper down after a back pass, winning the ball and rolling into an empty net. The match was an entertaining game with the ref Allen Sheill also putting in a fine display
Goal scorers: Kristian Smith and Ashley Conner

NOT THE EASIEST FREINDLY TO START WITH

1st X1 10 Reserves 3
A step in the right direction for the club, a useful workout for both teams.
The score does look bad but good positives for Reserves with a good crop of young players playing some good football and at least SCORING THREE GOALS with the first team having 16 players(all quality).
So the rest of the Reserves knew it was going to be hard.
Also having 17 to select from
Rob Kennedy, Joe Peters, Dan Middleton, Richard Cross, Kevin Pink, Kevin Robinson, Ben Lovell, Shane Samler, Sam Bridge, Lee Philpino, Kristian Smith, Paul Bromley, Andy Anall, Mark Willis, Yodi, Chris Thompson, Chris Reece.
Also with a few players away Goalkeeper
Adam Linnett, Rob De Bell, Bradley Stopher and Sam Thorpe.
It is going to be intresting for both teams with so many players to select from so it will be important to perform well in all friendlies.

A solid performance by the 1st X1 which showed why they enjoy their football,
they have been training for the past few weeks which showed. With a lot of the Reserves doing their first bit of training so fitness was a major part
with the score only being 3-1 at half time. The subs the 1st X1 brought on at half time killed us with pace and great passing.
Some really good performances all round for the Reserves which will make them much stronger for the next match.
As the team know we wont be playing teams like them every week.

Thanks to Reserve boss Rob Kennedy for playing in goal, Colin Miles for being ref, Mo Carter and Chris Thompson for running the line.
Goal scorers were scouse 'hitman' Andy Annal, Lee Philopino and Shane Samler.
Look forward to the return match,
all the best for the rest of the season.
First friendly will be on Wednesday 9th August, so make sure you attend training before this date.
All new players welcome.
